The Pink~a~Nose Periodical
In simplicity, we find Joy and a sense of Calm…
March 2010
WELCOME EVERYONE!
And May You All Be Well…
As you probably experience in your own lives, there are simply not enough hours in the day to accomplish it all… Such is my life! Good thing we named our little newsletter PaN Periodical. The fact that I wear every hat of every department within the Pink~a~Nose world only enables me to get here periodically! These past months thus far have been extremely busy, to include our recent big move to the Santa Cruz Mountains and all the changes that came with it. So very much has been happening, and here I am still, with a smile on my face… Yeah! We love our Pink~a~Nose fans and I invite you to enjoy the following updates for everything and anything that is currently happening in The World of The Pink~a~Nose.

PINK~A~NOSE READINGS…
Firstly, I would like to make an announcement… The Pink~a~Nose Storybook was submitted to the Sonoma County School Board by a dear friend for the approval of a Pink~a~Nose Reading. And it was accepted! A bit of a lengthy process, nonetheless, the date was set for a reading at the Sequoia Elementary School in Santa Rosa. I had the distinct honor and privilege of sitting before three combined kindergarten classes with a total of 60 (WOW biggest crowd yet!) kindergartners with my little book! A lovely experience to be sure. As always at the end of a reading follows a conversation… for this particular reading, the children seemed to focus on wanting to know all the places I have been in the world, on other children in other parts of the world, and on bullying and how important it is to be kind and caring to others. Once again, the Pink~a~Nose accomplished their goal!
Secondly, it has also come to my attention that The Pink~a~Nose Story was submitted (by a customer) to the Santa Cruz School District for approval, and was accepted. What a wonderful surprise! As I mentioned before, this is generally a lengthy process and I will share more when I know more.
Thirdly, many people have asked me what a Pink~a~Nose Reading is like? It has been suggested that I should share the experience in this newsletter. For those of you who know not what a Pink~a~Nose Reading consists of, briefly, it goes like this:
The Pink~a~Nose Lady, me, shows up to the event dressed in pink with lots of sparkle (of course), along with her little basket of goodies for the children. She sits before the children, introduces herself and the story, and reaches into the basket for The Pink~a~Nose Storybook. She then unwraps the book from a special silk scarf given to her by her grandmother, and announces to the children that she needs to put on her magical pink lens Pink~a~Nose reading glasses. The children love this part and look to her with genuine anticipation of seeing and learning something new! Looking out at their faces, well, what a sight to behold! As she reads the story, the children listen and watch with keen interest. Upon the completion of the story, there follows an engaging conversation with the children. With smiles all around, which is the whole point, I am consistently amazed with their questions, comments, and personal thoughts they choose to share with me! Every conversation that follows a Pink~a~Nose Reading, seems to differ from the one before and the one to come, it is always a mystery. At the end of the Pink~a~Nose Reading, the Pink~a~Nose Lady personally hands out to each child a ‘special shell’ in which the sounds of the ocean can be heard from the island of where the Pink~a~Nose first came to be. Sometimes as well, if appropriate, she will also hand out Pink~a~Nose Mini Mermaids, and also Pink~a~Nose coloring pages tied with ribbon. Giving the children little Pink~a~Nose gifts makes the children feel special and a part of the Pink~a~Nose world, as well as leaving them with a pleasant memory of the experience.
The positive feedback from the Pink~a~Nose Readings that I have received are quite humbling, yet motivating and keep me going! I thank you all for your sweet comments! And very much look forward to future readings of The Pink~a~Nose Storybook.
Pink~a~Nose Reading inquiries are very welcome and I encourage you to contact me if you know of someone that would benefit from the experience. We offer Classroom, Hospital, Charity and Birthday Readings.

UP COMING PROJECTS:
In the midst of all the above, I have started the rather involved process of writing and illustrating the next Pink~a~Nose storybook. I will be introducing a new Pink~a~Nose character, Rohan the Merman. I have shared this thought with many a child, and have been given ‘the go ahead’ with much enthusiasm. No turning back now! Here comes Rohan the Merman! The creative process involved in writing and illustrating a storybook is an extremely time consuming process although one that I very much enjoy. Therefore, I begin. We are also looking into the development of a Pink~a~Nose DVD and game! Your comments are very welcome.

If you are looking for a unique and special gift for that someone special in your life, please give thought to a Pink~a~Nose! They really do spread smiles! We love hearing from you! If you would like to be posted with your special Pink~a~Nose in our Attic, you need only send us a photo. The more the merrier! You are all beautiful!
Reminder: A percentage of the profit from every Pink~a~Nose, Pink~a~Nose storybook and other various Pink~a~Nose items is given to The Pink~a~Nose Children’s Charity Fund.
